When Facebook introduced it’s new Timeline design it was met with a lot of groans from the general public, mainly because any tinkering done with their design has gotten Facebook some complaints anyway. And it’s not usually over any sort of displeasure over the changes themselves, more so just because there was any kind of change at all. People get comfy with the way Facebook (or any site) looks and operates and anything that disrupts that is approached with caution. Which is fair enough! But I think the new Timeline feature has been a huge improvement on personal profiles, and I think it will be an even bigger boost for businesses.
First off, here is a link to a good video to explain some of the benefits of the Timeline design, and the way some companies have developed apps to make the user experience even more social than before : Facebook Timeline for Businesses
One of my favorite things about the new Timeline design is big space they’ve given you for a cover photo. This is a great place to use your logo, photos of your office space, the front of your building, your team, or any other great ways to highlight what makes your business special.

Facebook also implemented a new admin panel that includes notifications, messages, insights. Under notifications, you can respond to people who send a message and view your latest insights. Insights help you to analyze preferences of your fans meaning that when you start a Facebook advertising campaign, it’s easier than ever to analyze how your fans are reacting.

The image to the right features some great things to consider when building a Timeline page for your business, and was taken from an article posted here. The advice isn’t bad but every person needs to evaluate what they want to have on their Facebook page on their own. Read, evaluate, and then implement what you like.
With our iCMS tools, we allow you to makes changes and updates to your Facebook page directly from the same place you’re already updating your website from.
